Hillory Peters M.A., CCC-SLP

With over 18 years of clinical experience, Hillory is a seasoned Speech-Language Pathologist who has expertise in treating a broad range of speech and language disorders in early intervention, preschool, school age and adolescent populations. Hillory completed her masters degree at The University of Maryland, College Park.  Her specific clinical interests include: disorders of language comprehension and expression, fluency disorders, Childhood Apraxia of Speech, Autism Spectrum Disorders, behavioral feeding disorders and pragmatic language disorders. Hillory began her professional career at ‘Rady’ Children's Hospital in San Diego where she worked with a variety of populations in both outpatient and inpatient facilities.  Following, she worked as a senior therapist at The Crimson Center for Speech and Language, a private practice in San Diego, CA specializing in the treatment of children with Autism Spectrum Disorders. While there, she acted as a mentor to college students and supervised a speech-language therapy program for developmentally disabled adults. 

After moving to NY, Hillory worked in Early Intervention with a number of agencies including: Interactive Therapy Group, TheraCare and University Settlement.  In addition, she worked as an SLP at Park Slope Speech Therapy and for The NYC Department of Education providing speech and language therapy to preschool and school age children. Following a relocation to Westchester in 2009, she worked for Dramatic Pragmatics providing group speech and language therapy for preschool and school age children with pragmatic language deficits.  She also contracted with Westchester Speech and Language Services to provide Early Intervention and CPSE services.  Hillory is PROMPT trained, she is conversational in Spanish and has basic skills in American Sign Language.  In addition, she is a member of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).  Hillory is dedicated to tailoring each child's therapy plan to meet his or her specific needs and learning style.  In addition, she is committed to collaborating with parents, therapists and teachers to help each child achieve success in all environments.
